National Child Welfare Appreciation Day

Yesterday, September 20th was National Child Welfare Appreciation Day, a chance to stop and thank the dedicated individuals who are committed to supporting children, youth and families in our community. Our team at Kaleidoscope shows up each day ready to face whatever challenges may be thrown at them because they know that our children, youth and families depend on them. These individuals demonstrate powers and traits that truly make them superheroes in our work.

Kaleidoscope superheroes are dependable, honest, and brave. They’re resilient and mission-focused, innovative in their approach to supporting families, and fearless when faced with a challenge. They are passionate, accepting, and empathetic. They specialize in holding space for others and advocating on behalf of the children, youth and families we serve. They’re self-aware and able to reflect on their work with families. Kaleidoscope team members are true superheroes for these reasons and so many more, however, most importantly they always bring a positive attitude, patience, and hope to challenging work.

Our work is not easy, but it is necessary and each day these individuals are impacting lives across Chicagoland. Thank you for choosing to be a superhero each and every day. Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Kaleidoscope Team!

And a special thanks to the volunteers at Cake4Kids Chicago for helping our team celebrate National Child Welfare Appreciation Day with cookies. Cakes4Kids is a volunteer run program that partners with agencies like Kaleidoscope to provide custom birthday cakes to children and youth in care.
