Our Finances

Kaleidoscope is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit child welfare organization.

As a sub-contractor for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Kaleidoscope receives the majority of our funding (97 percent) from the State of Illinois. We use these funds to serve children and families impacted by abuse and neglect, including in-home interventions, specialized foster care, counseling, case management and more. Our FY21 Finances – July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021

Our other sources of funding include corporations, fundraising events and individual donors. These generous supporters sustain our core services and help with our operational costs, ensuring that our staff and families have the tools they need to succeed. Through our strategic plan, we seek additional sources of funding to support our enhanced service delivery and sustain our core programs.

As the state grapples with debt and budget constraints, Kaleidoscope’s state funding – and therefore the vital services we provide to children and families – are regularly in jeopardy. In the coming years, we aim to increase our independent funding so that we can continue serving families and growing our programs to reach all who need us. We welcome the opportunity to work with you!
